TalentSee @ #WPC14

Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) is an annual global convergence of Microsoft's top partners. WPC is open to any member of the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN). Attendees come from over 150 countries and represent many of the most successful, top-tier partners in MPN. All company sizes are represented at the event, from large enterprises to startups. The main goals of WPC are for partners to network, identify new business opportunities and learn about the latest trends at Microsoft, and across tech in general.Microsoft Ventures introduced the Startup Showcase to highlight startups in attendance. The premise of the Startup Showcase was to leverage Microsoft's network and reach to give startups the opportunity to present their companies with the goal to meet potential customers, demo their products, and connect with other entrepreneurs at WPC. Talentsee was one of the seven startups invited to demo within the Startup Showcase.

I have wanted to attend the WPC for longer than I care to remember but due to diary clashes, priorities, etc. I hadn't managed to get here until this year! What a conference it's been!

The agenda was full of interesting and educational sessions. But the stand-out bonus for us was the offer of being able to utilize the Startup Showcase space by Microsoft Ventures to showcase our new startup, TalentSee! How this came about really was thanks to Microsoft Ventures reviewing our initial registration for their program and seeing that we were onto something special.

Having been offered a slot inside the Startup Showcase, we were able to have a base to distribute collateral, provide demos and sign up potential future customers. It was great to meet some of the other startups presenting as well; Josh from SkyGiraffe and Ludek from Corinth gave us valuable insights and helped us think about possible alternative routes to market.

Despite our early-early stage status, the opportunity to get in front of savvy customers, gather critical insights to steer our product, and connect with a bunch of smart people were, simply, priceless. Without the assistance of Microsoft Ventures, we would not have received the exposure we did and would have been just another couple of delegates.

Also being situated just in the central exhibit area gave us the ability to connect with the Azure and the Microsoft Openness teams. They both showed interest in us as a showcase due to our cutting-edge, designed for Azure software!

The WPC is a really great event which I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to attend to do so. There really is something for everyone here and you will get some value no matter in what guise you are attending. For us, we are sure we will be back next year! By then, hopefully, we will be even more immersed in the Microsoft Ventures program and will have a range of updates to show backed by great case studies. Please do take a look at TalentSee!
