Microsoft for Startups Judging FinTech Hackathon 2021

This year’s FinTech Nations Summit is already underway with teams from all over the world developing solutions for the banking sector and competing in the FinTech Hackathon for prizes worth over $100,000.

Microsoft for Startups Judging FinTech Hackathon 2021

Submissions have begin in several FinTech categories with the final deadline, one week from today on Friday March 12, 2021. The Summit wraps up on Sunday March 14 with the prizes being awarded and at the closing ceremony.

There is still time to register for the hackathon and submit a three-minute video for consideration. You can also join in on Discord and interact with people from all around the world to discuss your project or even recruit new members for your team.

Submissions for the hackathon are welcomed in each of the following tracks:

  • Open Bank API
  • Digital Money
  • E-commerce
  • Payments
  • NeoBanks
  • Open Banking
  • FinTech for Good

In each case the judges will be considering the following criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Ethical Considerations
  • Practical Viability
  • Social Impact
  • Technical Complexity
  • Innovation
  • Design & Implementation

Roberto Croci, MD of Microsoft for Startups MEA, is on the panel of judges that will be awards prizes to the winning teams worth over $100,000. He explained why Microsoft for Starts is delighted to be involved with this project, “We are committed to working with the best talent to build sustainable businesses, tackling some of the key challenges that banks and financial institutions are facing today. We are looking for ideas and solutions that we can support both with access to technology, and access to markets—leveraging Microsoft’s global customer base and our massive partner network to accelerate growth for startups.”
