8 Seattle Startups Pitch at Inaugural LunchBox Pitch & Win with Startup Fair

Last week, a buzzing crowd of Seattle entrepreneurs, techies, and mentors gathered at the University of Washington’s Startup Hall for our inaugural LunchBox Pitch & Win event in partnership with Startup Fair.

The purpose of LunchBox is to connect and bring together startups in the growing Seattle ecosystem.

To help local startups become familiar with angel groups, venture funds, startup hubs, incubators, and accelerators, the LunchBox location will change every month.

Prior to the event, three startups were selected to give 5-minute pitches with a chance to win $10K. Five more startups were selected for 1-minute pitches and a chance to win $5K. True to its name, LunchBox kicked off with a free lunch for attendees and participants, then moved right along to the startup pitches.

The startup founders rocked their pitches and expertly answered tough questions from the panel—nobody envied the difficult task in front of the judges! The pitches clearly resonated with the audience, as evidenced by robust conversations on Twitter and excitement in the room. But alas, only two of the eight startups could take home the prizes.

While the judges deliberated, the crowd mingled and discussed their favorite solutions. After some anticipation, the judges emerged with their decisions and the winners were announced. For best 5-minute pitch and $10K in prizes…
