3 Reasons Startups Should Attend a TechCrunch Disrupt Event
TechCrunch Disrupt is one of the most anticipated technology conferences of the year. It’s typically known for startup launches, but from my experience attending this year, it’s much more than that. Here are just three reasons you should represent your startup at this popular event:
- For us entrepreneurs, Disrupt is—at the very least—a highly concentrated opportunity to meet like-minded people. Attending Disrupt NY 2015 gave me an exceptional opportunity to interact with numerous serial entrepreneurs as well as ‘newbie’ entrepreneurs innovating in the Internet space. Taking part in an event of this magnitude was an incredibly valuable experience.
- As a startup co-founder, I’m always trying to understand prospective customer viewpoints across the different verticals we serve. We met a lot of potential customers who confirmed that bots are creating huge problems for their businesses, validating that our solution really is something they are eager to get their hands on. In fact, several customers signed up for our service on the spot!
- And of course, as an entrepreneur, I’m always looking to gain exposure for our anti-scraping cloud service, ShieldSquare. There is probably no better way for a startup to achieve global exposure than to simply attend a TechCrunch Disrupt event. Not only will you talk to a ton of other entrepreneurs and potential customers about your startup, but the media presence is so massive it’s almost overwhelming. I spoke with a number of media folks at Disrupt, which should open doors to gaining some great visibility and coverage in the near future.
TechCrunch Disrupt is indeed a huge platform startups can leverage in order to meet other entrepreneurs, find customers, and gain global exposure. Every startup should consider taking part in these kinds of events if they are looking to enter the global arena and prove their mettle.
