Microsoft expands free Azure AI infrastructure access to startups

Open to anyone with an idea

Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub brings people, knowledge and benefits together to help founders at every stage solve startup challenges. Sign up in minutes with no funding required.

In November, Microsoft for Startups announced the availability of Azure AI infrastructure for high-end GPU virtual machine clusters for use in training and running large language models and other deep learning models, with access to Y Combinator and M12 startups.

Today, we are excited to announce we are extending the offer to additional organizations that align with our vision for advancing AI innovation to early-stage startups. We are proud to welcome founders affiliated with AI Grant Fund, Alchemist Accelerator, Conviction, The House Fund, Open AI Startup Fund, Neo and AI investor Elad Gil who will gain access to this state-of-the-art infrastructure during a private preview phase.

Through Founders Hub, we assist founders in accelerating startup growth by providing free access to generative AI models, up to $150,000 in Azure credits for use toward Azure AI Studio, and expert guidance from mentors at Microsoft and partners.

Access to Cutting-Edge AI Infrastructure

This initiative is aimed at early-stage startups because it offers them access to specialized, high-performance Azure AI infrastructure at no cost. By providing tailored GPU virtual machine clusters, startups can leverage advanced computing capabilities without the financial burden, empowering them to develop and scale AI solutions more quickly and efficiently.

Here’s what Vaikkunth Mugunthan CEO and Cofounder of DynamoFL had to say about the impact of gaining access to this infrastructure.

“At DynamoFL, we’ve been able to greatly accelerate our development plans with both the support and GPU access from the Microsoft for Startups program. Azure’s AI infrastructure has been critical to our ability to deploy high-quality and regulation-compliant Gen AI models, at scale, for our joint customers. We can’t wait to continue to deploy more privacy-preserving Gen AI products through the Azure Marketplace.”

Microsoft’s Azure AI infrastructure is purpose-built to support startups aiming to scale the most sophisticated AI workloads. From delivering large and complex AI models like GPT-4 and ChatGPT through Azure OpenAI Service to providing AI-accelerated offerings with networked GPUs, startups can leverage high-performance capabilities to accelerate getting their models into production. Azure AI Studio provides tooling for low-code or code-based training, fine-tuning of models, and secure deployments adhering to Microsoft’s principles for Responsible AI. With Model-as-a-Service, we now have the most comprehensive set of models in the industry including Llama 2 from Meta and upcoming premium models from Cohere, Mistral, and Jais.
